The fluttering prayer flag (Lungta) are colorful cloth squares in five primary colors with buddhist mantras, deity and wind horse images and prayers on it and are connected along their top edges to a long string.
Lungta (Tip: Lung = Wind, Ta = Ta is a symbol of speed and the transformation of bad fortune to good fortune.) is a mythical Tibetan creature from pre Buddhist times combines the speed of the wind and strength of the horse to carry prayers from earth to heavens. The word Lungta for a Tibetan itself means fortune or good luck. Tibetan believe that the prayers and mantras will be blown upwards as offering to their deities and will bring fortune, prosperity, happiness and good health to all who hang them also to their families, loved ones, neighbours and all the people throughout the world.
